I had always heard that some Farmall demonstrator tractors were painted white to draw attention for promotion. I heard a tale today about a white Super A that the owner claims is a "spotter" tractor. He says that IH painted every 300th SA white so it could be seen from the air and the progress of sales could be monitored that way (assuming they were sold in order of production). Sounds fishy to me, anyone heard anything like this? Nothing better to do on a rainy day. Thanks. Bob

When IH painted the Mid Century white demo tractors (Super A, C, and Cub) ALL of the tractors made from January through about mid-March of 1950 were painted white. IH did not skip any. They did not change the paint line from white to red and back. This not only took time, but cost $$$$ to do.

The S-A owner that told you this needs to get thier facts straight, before spreading "bigger fish tales"..... ..
