Does anybody have any ideas on making some sort of step to get on and off the 460/560 row crops? I was thinking of just something hanging off the back axle. So far, the way it comes from the factory has cost me to get 2 pairs of pants patched!

I had a 560 for 16 years back in 60s and 70s. Never seemed like a bad tractor for getting on and off, until I got a 656. I put a cab on 656 and flat top fenders from 656 went to 560. With the 560 original lights removed, I made a mounting step and extra platform ahead of wheel. I put a grab handle where the left head light used to mount, and of course you have one in the front of that fender. I really liked the front mounting, as I remember I clamped to axle housing and side of torque tube. Made a great step for fueling also.

I do remember the torn trousers and flesh. Oh well as the father of a couple of one room school bullies said to teacher when the bullied kids drove horseshoe nails up through the slide and tricked the bullies into going first. The teacher a young lady was concerned about the lads bloodied backsides. The old man said," never mind the backsides, they will heal, its the money I put out for those trousers."

My 460 has fast hitch and I step on the piece of re-bar that is welded on top of the left hitch socket. Does your's have standard drawbar or fast hitch?

Well I made a step that bolts to the top of the left axel and is 5 inches up and back so I can throw my leg over the seat. 2pt equiped tractors with wheels shoved in for 30 inch rows don't leave much room with fenders mounted.
