I just bought a B Farmall, and the serial # tag is gone. Is there anywhere else on the tractor that I could find the serial number? This tracotr has a couple of features that make me think it is an early B. Any help would be great.

Brent, If it indeed is an early B (1939,1940) the ID plate was located on the pedal guard between the clutch and left brake pedal. The B`s also had matching serial #`s stamped on the block above the distributor or magneto.

There should be a series like FAB ***** underneath #1 plug on the block rite behind the throttle rod. Replacement blocks were not stamped from I-H Of course a used one would have numbers. You can also get some sort of code date by the casting numbers on the trans by the clutch. It can be a chore as we dont know what has been changed on an old tractor.
