Hey guys, need help here, I'm trying to get a carb for my 1951 Super C but I'm finding it difficult to get the right one without seeing it. I've been told that Zenith came on the tractor, but now I find a Marvel Schebler design was also on it. Whats the difference between them? Which one is better ? I want to get rid of the Carter UT that is on it now, but I don't want to spend $169 and have it sent to Calif and find out that it's not the one that fits my tractor.

I think most of these Super C's had the Carter UT carb, at least mine has it.. Zenith makes a replacement, I don't think you'll find a Marvel Schebler replacement carb, so that makes the Zenith better

I bought a new Zenith carb for my super c and it works great. You can get them from central tractor or value or whatever they are calling themselves now. IH carries the same zenith but its about 50 bucks more. I bought a new one because the carter carb was a mess and I didn't want to fool with it. After all the money I put into restoring the tractor I wanted it to run well. hahahahah I have the IH part number somewhere if you need it.

Mel, I did the same thing on my SC. After two other attempts with used off the net, I plunged for a new Zenith and the tractor runs perfectly. I didn't even have to adjust the new carb...put it on, fired her up and she was set. Never been happier.

Just a guess.... If Zenith offered a contract for 5000 carbs at $20 each and M-S offered 5000 at $19.50 each, IHC would save $500 with M-S.
