Today I started assebling the super A at the farm, what a great day. I was out in the shed, nice fire going (I live in the city, no sheds, no fires and no tractors).

Got the Sleeves in, Tappets, cam and Crank. I took everyones advice on the plasti gauge... works great ! Next I'll attach all the connecting rods and check them with the plasti gauge, I already got them into the cylinders.

Thanks for all your help over the years.

Brian.

Hey Brian, If you love working on tractors so much, Please, Come work on mine! I acquired my Dads old 240 and I'm in the middle of restoring it. I used to restore old cars, got tired of that, And decided to try a tractor. Wow! I never dreamed of the time (and money) this would involve. I love working on mine too, I'm a single Dad and don't have the time to devote to it like I want. Good luck and good wrenching! David

Sounds great! I just pulled my first engine last night. The temp was 26 F in northern Michigan, but my snowsuit kept me warm (no snow here yet, but it will probably hit us hard in Feb/Mar). I'm restoring a 1946 BN with a very rusty and stuck engine. I hooked a tow strap around each end of the block, tied it to the Horn Mfg loader on my 1940 H, unscrewed the six bolts, and it came off smoothly. I put it on a bench and removed the flywheel, clutch, and crankshaft. The block is now sitting upside down while the pistons, sleeves, and cam shaft soak in PB Blaster. Next stop, the machinist for line boring the crank bearings (the caps cracked, and I needed to get "new" ones). Thank you for sharing your story.
