Did the 1086 come with a 8cyl turbo? And is it possible to put a 8cyl turbo in them. Just wondering but would be helpful to know. Thank you.

The 1086 came factory with a DT(diesel, turbo)414 cubic inch engine.

The 1468 and 1568 had V8 diesels, the DV550 I believe. They were not turboed however, they won't hold up to the turbo in stock form.

Did they only put V-8's into the 66 series tractorss or did 86 series get them too? I've never seen one but every picture that I've seen was of a 66 series style.

1468 and 1568 were the only 2 wheel drive IH tractors made with the V8. The 4386 or 4586 had a big V8 in it and those were 4x4.

No, that's not what I mean. Did they make a 1468 all through the seventies (i.e. from the days of the 66 line thru the 86 series)? I feel like I'm not making myself clear.

4586's and 4786's had 800 c. i. v-8's. the 4386 had a very overworked and overreved 466. {2900 rpm}

Just like the combine engines huh? Our 1460 has a DT436 that runs 2850 w/no load. Every time I hit the throttle I picture rods flying...

Bigred, anything is possible depends on time and money.don't know what you can do with a 1086 all I know is some of those super stock pullers have two three and four turbos on their tractors so some were sombody must make somthing for that application if it did not come through with an 8cyl turbo. I would think that it would make to much pressure for a 6cyl eng,but I guess that also depends on rpm's and the size of your air intake and plumbing
