I feel bad for you guys with wives that dissaprove and crab about your tractors and/or other toys and useful stuff. I once had a crabby wife, but got rid of her. Now I got a girlfriend who likes old cars, and old tractors. When I got a cub, she liked it well enough, she bought her own for her place. I recently got another cub, and while I was moving snow with my 8N today, she got on my new cub and plowed some herself. That's her 4x4 pickup in the background. Life is good with no crabbing.

The little wife (5'2) and I just celebrate our 45th together and finally learned how to argue and still stay friends. When I spend money on my toys she doesn't say much. Just grumbles a little but know it cost money to keep them up. I try to see to it that she gets what she wants also.

People ask me when Linda is going to write a book and I point out, quite accurately, that she has... but I signed my name to it. But I do think you guys who are bringing your women folks into the shop and onto the tractor are making a terrible mistake. What you need to do is keep that shop noisy, dirty, and smelly enough to keep her OUT of it. It's a sanctuary, don't you know? And once they find out those tools fit not only tractors but also cabinet hinges, drier covers, mixer blades, oven doors, etc., you're never going to get any peace.

I've read several of your books, Rog(and not just the tractor ones), and I must say that your L.L. stories have made a great addition to them. Even though my color choice is Red, we're all in this together! Keep on doin' what you do!
(and say "hi" to Lunchbox for me)

That theory won't fly with my wife. Been a lot of times her small hands have gotten into tight places to put on parts etc. that my size 10 hams would never get into! Besides if she is handy with the tools she can do the mickey mouse stuff in the house and give you peace if mind!

I'm another lucky one also. My wife was born/raised on a dairy farm here in our town. A firm believer that you can't have enough tractors hanging around. If that ain't enough she akso blessed me with two great sons!!

Hi Bill, How are you doing? I am doing GREAT, better than I desirve! My wife doesn't always enjoy the things that I do, like tinkering on my tractors, truck or car, but then again she likes to do thing like flower beds, knitting, and she works hard around the house and is a good cook. We have our moments but she is worth having and she pulls more than her weight. Bob

Hi Bob, glad you and the misses get along great. Lots of couples do, and that's wonderful. My girlfriend and I get along fine also. I just feel bad for the guys with crabby controlling wives, who complain about what a fellow does with his time and hard earned money. Around here, a lot of people throw away a lot of money at the indian casinos every day, all day and all night long, and have nothing to show for it. At least we can go to the shop and admire our money sitting there on it's wheels. Neither the girlfriend nor I are great cooks, but we know several good restarunts. She has other talents. You should see the great digital photos she took today at the motorcycle ice races!

Life is INDEED wonderful! I have a wife who may crab a little, but she knows what keeps me happy and is thrilled to see me get enjoyment out of my toys! I have also found out that I have found enjoyment in HER toys, also (this makes it easier for her to like my toys)! You plannin' on keepin' her?

She is about as good as they get, so I figure to keep the relationship going, as long as she figures the same. Here is a photo of her cub when we first unloaded it from the trailer. Yes, we know it dont work to have the mower and plow on at the same time.

Is that an old Ford in the background with the apple green wheels?

Yo Fireman! How's the snow situation in your neck of the woods? We just picked up 10-12 inches here and I had a blast moving it around with my Cub. My 8 year old is getting good at driving her too!!

The inch or two we got Thursday was about half gone, but now it's starting to spit some snow again. I'll be glad when it clears up, seems I always have to end up driving in it.

You could leave the blade on to smooth out those "rough spots" as you mow!

All natural mulch!!! The "mrs." of 35 years likes the old 12 horse snapper garden tractor for her yardwork. The yard is mine in the winter! "Lake effect" snow keeps my 630 case and back-blade busy. Gota "49" H project for the comming year. The "mrs" is ok with the "old fart" and his "ag toys" she knows where I am! Loved your photos. Sounds like you got a "keeper" in your girlfriend. More photos on the web site. Sounds like you are about my age. I would have been married 33 years this year if the torture had continued. Got some really nice kids from the deal though, and now a grandson.

You may have something there. She has a lot of oak tree branches that fall into the lawn, and the blade could maybe scoop them up before she mows them and makes very bad noises from the mower.
