Can anyone tell me what size tire the Farmall H originally came out with? Has anyone ever put a 13.6-38 tire on an 11 inch rim? And finally, does anybody know who makes the "Farm Hand" brand tire and can you still get them? Thanks, Brian

Most Hs came with 10x38 and some with 11x38 there were some other sizes available but I never saw them in my area. The 10x38 would=11.2x38 today the 11x38 would=12.4x38. Most 12.4x38s have 11 in. rim recommend or something like that on sidewall. 13.6x38 were the old 12x38 with 12 in. rim reccomened. The 12x38 was mostly found on M but they will work ok on H with 11 in. rim. The main difference in old size numbers and newer ones is that old width was measured at rim and new size is measured at widest part of tire. The Firestone agriculture web site has lots of tire data.

I would guess that it was 11 by 38". I have 12.4 38" on mine. They seem to fit O.K. I wouldn't want any wider tires than that unless I was shooting for oversized. Somebody posted some tire measurement info as to how the width measurement varied and changed over the years either on this forum, or it might of been tractor talk. I didn't know it but apparently the width was measured in 3 or 4 ways over the years. The guy went into detail explaining the different stages of measurements. Something about tires used to be measured by rim size but now are measured by the carcus size or something. If he knows what he is talking about, you might want to find his post and read it. All that I know is my 12.4 38's look somewhat right. It would be really hard to find tires exactly the way they were from factory. The tread style alone would make it hard to find exact tires.
