I removed the old crank seal today on my M. She came out hard, but i got her out. Now that I am ready to put the new one in (from a Tru-power kit)I am all confused. After i got to looking at the three parts of the old seal (had some troubles at first)I realized that it was all encased in the same deal(rubber and felt). But my new one is two separate parts rubber seal and a felt washer. How does this go? did I screw something up when I took out the old one? any help would be appreciated. this is the biggest engine that I have rebuilt since small engines class last year. Thanks, Larry.

the front crankshaft seal is just a regular grease seal the felt ring in the kit is a dust seal for the water pump.
