I've been thinking about adding a 3 pt. hitch to my 140 but was wondering just how strong the fender mount for the top link is. I don't plan on lifting a lot but maybe a bushhog and a plow. I know there are a lot of them out there and advise from experience would be appreciated.

Take a look a the implement photo page, I posted a photo of a 3pt adapter for a Farmall 140.

The fenders will support all that the touch control will lift. I had a 140 for a long time with a 3 point hitch and never had a problem. Problems were that the hitch would lift only around 500 lbs or so, and some implements had interference problems due to the short length of the lift arms and the offset pto.

You would be best off to push the Farmall in a ditch and get a real tractor!!!

Like most of were taught when we were young: If you don't have anything good to say then don't say anything.

I don't think that we need these kind of comments on this board.

Personal opinion. Randy

To each his own. He probably doesn't like Harleys either.

I wouldn't worry too much about fenders. I use 1 point fast hitch and have several implements in the 500 lb. range. I have a boom sprayer 60 Imperial gallons. Tractor will pick it with 40 gal . 400lbs + sprayer itself probably 200 lbs. for total of 600 lbs. I do use check chains from rockshaft to cross bar of 1 point. With chains in place I fill the sprayer, 800 lbs. and that weight is all on fenders. That is just about all you can run and keep front end on ground. Until the first 20 gallons is out of sprayer I don't want to see much of a hill.

I agree with Charles about the lifting limits of the hydraulic system. The fenders will have their limits also. My guess is that the implement should be no more than 400#.

the fender mounts are not the problem. the lift power of the touch control is not enough to pick up most 3-point equipment. a regular hyd cylinder would help a lot. my uncle put a 3-pt on a 130, added only 3-pt lift arms. the touch control unit stained to pickup a 4 foot finish mower.
