I have found a farmall 300 utility. Has never been restored. Sheet metal good but been worked hard all its life. What are they worth? Are the hydraulic any good? How hard is it to get parts for a 300? I already have two H's but I need a tractor with 3pt hitch to use around the house. Any advice is appreciated.

If it's a utility, isn't it an IH? Last spring I sold a 340 U here in MN for 3400, no power steering, would of been nice to have, though.

I got one and love it. It had a loader on it before I got it, and the power steering needed to be rebuilt, that got a little expensive, (about $500 total) but it's a tough little tractor. They go for about 2/3 what a 8N Ford does around here, but they're twice the tractor due to more power and more weight. I paid $2500 for mine. Most areas of the country are quite a bit cheaper than here in western Washington, though.

I have seen several sell in here in Kansas in the 2200 to 4200 range depending on the kind of sale and condition. I would say we should be in the lower end of market price. A lot better then a 8N or 9N with the live hydrolics and and possible live PTO.

Big Fred, what part of Western Washington are you from. I'm from down around Chehalis. I also have a 300 Utility. Right now I'm in the process of rebuilding the engine.

I'm near Buckley, between Puyallup and Enumclaw. The fellows at Jennings Equipment in Puyallup tell me they sell a lot of 300U parts, so I'm thinking they were a pretty common tractor around here. Nice size for a dairy or poultry farm I suppose.

I've had one going on 20 years now. Great tractor for me at least, I've never had problems getting parts from the dealer but haven't needed many. Does it have power steering? That's a plus. Can't tell you value but I know I wouldn't sell mine..
