Took a road trip to Fall City Nebraska today to a sale that had an H with wide front end, not running, advertised.

Got there to find not an H but a Super H, series II with a wide front end and they had it running. New tires on the rear and one new one on the front. Needed a lot of cleaning and several seals and gaskets replaced. It had been repainted a couple of times so it was going to take a lot of elbow grease to get it ready to paint again. Sold for $2350.

Buyer was in his 60's, said he had about 10 tractors in his collection. Also said that he paid more than he wanted to but that he had stood there in the cold all day (3 hrs) and had decided that he wasn't going home without it.

JUST FOR WHAT IT'S WORTH!!!!! !!!!! !

I bought a Stage 2 Super H from Mike at Steel Wheel Ranch last summer for $2250. Seemed to be a little high but they are hard to find around here (SW Kansas). Straight tin, no paint remaining, needs rear tires, a seat and battery box, steering wheel, and some gaskets. going to replace most of them. Had to replace main transmission shaft seal, replacing clutch and rear main seal while I'm at it. Runs good -- compression 120, 120, 117, 120 (new is about 130), no obvious transmission problems, going to pull cover anyway. Will probably have a couple thousand in it by the time I paint it.

Don't have any use for the plow, as almost no one has plowed around here for over 30 years. As I said, none I know of in this area. When you buy from salvage, or a dealer, expect to pay more. Since its a stage 2, perhaps $1800 is more like it. Stage 2's are worth more than straight H's and stage 1 Supers. How much more is up to the buyer and seller. Ole Mike has his $2250 and I have the tractor. When I get this tractor "restored" it won't be for sale.

Sounds like He still got a deal. 4 of Us stood around at a sale 5-6 yrs ago looking over a kinda rough Stage II Super H w/NFE, nothing fancy for tires or paint. Looked like It had dropped into a hole or ditch... big dent in the oil pan and a hole punched in the cast iron cover where the belly pump would have gone on a Stage I. Three of the 4 of Us already had Super H's.... the 4th one of Us paid $2600. But it was a nice day in the 70's.
