I am putting a seal in a M brake shaft, how do I know which way it goes? I know this is a simple question but help a beginner.

Here is a photo of the brake seal on a Super C. Should be much like any other seal.

As close as I can see, at the least the bottom one is in correct as I can see the "CR" number on the face of it. If you can see the "CR" # on the upper one you have them both in correctly.

Glad you posted that one....seals should be installed so the bevel is in towards the liquid you are trying to keep inside the unit. In other words the new style seals should have the flat face out and away from the liquids.
