I was wondering if anyone could tell me what kind of pump is available to convert a '49 H to live hydraulics? I used to have a Super M with a distributor pump, it worked very well. Is this available for an H? What brand, where from, and how much $? Anyone have any good/bad experiences?

Thanks!

put a "live" system on a 45 h several years ago. absolutely love it. bought a new pump from Bates Corp in indiana. got a used front cover from them as well. if i remember right it cost close to $600.00 to do it maybe a little more. added a remote hook up also. already had a 3pt hitch. to me it has been worht every penny. used the belly pump for resevior. can post pics if you need them.

Where did you drive the pump from? An engine pulley? Pictures would be great.

Thanks!

Live pump from a Super H, 300, 350 plus the front timing cover and cam gear from same.

Rebuilt pump is over $400 so I'm building my own live hydraulics... Link

I checked out the pictures on your website, pretty nice.

I had thought of using my belly pump to run a "live" system but wasn't sure if it would damage it leaving it running constantly, even when the spool valve it fed was closed. I see you have this as a temporary fix on your setup.

Has anyone else done this, and what potential problems may there be?

I really didn't want to crack the belly of the tractor open so was hoping I could get some info. on a distributor type pump. Are they still available anywhere?

Don't have to do anything in the belly for my system. I just chose to use the belly reservoir. You can always add an external tank for oil.

I think I saw a Hydralic pump for a 300 in the Classifieds on the site.
