I broke the adjustment flange on the water pump pulley. Can anyone tell me how to remove the broken one and replacing it. I have the water pump off, but can't seem to figure out how to get the pulley itself off. I'm beginning to wonder if it comes off?? Thanks ahead!!

Brandon the fixed portion of the flange is pinned to the hub. You will have to thoroughly clean it to see it then you have to drive the pin out. Its 1/8" by about an inch long and goes into the hub at an angle which is parallel to the angled flange surface. The pin comes out in the middle of the hub on the inside. After the pin is out, try to place the fixed flange in the vice so you can punch the hub portion off. When you reinstall the fixed portion of the hub you probably will not need to reinstall the pin. Lining up the 2 holes is next to impossible. I had to take mine to NAPA to press it on all the way. Make sure the flange and hub have no burrs. I suspect mine had one.

The seals are easy to get out. Stick your hub up on a vice and place your punch through the flange center (it moves around) and drive the bearing and seal out as one. It will not take much of a pounding to drive both out. Reverse the hub and repeat.

Before reinstalling the bearings, pack them with grease first. Won't take so much grease once you have the pump mounted back on the engine. Also make sure you have the fan blades reinstalled before greasing the rotating hub fitting or the front seal will pop out on you. Been there done that!

First you remove the fan and the pin on the driver, then remove the packing and bearing nuts, and pull out the impeller. You will need to use a 3 jaw puller to separate the pulley from the large hub. The tough part about the overhaul is removing the oil seals in front and behind the bearings. You may choose not to replace the bearings and seals. Assembly is very simple as you can gently compress the replacement flange and pulley hub. I think the new flange is going for around $60, but I was able to find a complete pump at a bone yard. I overhauled mine 2 weeks ago with new seals, packing, and an impeller ($160!). The overhaul was necessary because the bailing wire 'spacer' was not enough to tighten the belt for the standard 3/4" to 1" slack.
