Take the valve cover off and observe the valves on the cylinder in question. If you have a valve stuck open, pour some penetrating oil on the valve stem and let it sit a day, then tap the end of the valve with a brass hammer lightly and see if it will pop back up where it belongs. If it is stuck, use a forked tool like a tie rod end fork to gently pry it back up where it belongs. Oil the stems of the valves and crank it again. Repeat if necessary.

Pull the sparkplug and see if you have any compression. Sounds like the intake valve might be stuck open.
