I have an M and a 450 Farmall that I would like to plow with and was wondering if anyone would have any pictures of a sidehill hich they would be willing to share with me. I would like to build one to use with either of my tractors.

My dad had a side hill hitch for his W4 in the 1940s. When he bought the H he bought it with a new side hill hitch, the H drawbar being different than W4. He would not think of trying to plow without it even on relatively level ground. Used that hitch lever later on 300. This was all with no. 8 2x14 plow. Later mounted that lever on 560 for use with no 60 4x16 plow. We found it very hard to shift with the 4 bottom plow, often having to back up a bit to take presure off drawbar. The 560 having an extra hydraulic valve, we built a frame out on left side of drawbar and placed an implement cylinder between frame and swinging drawbar. That was a big improvment as you could shift it on the move. If you have a spare double acting hydraulic valve on tractor that is way to go. The manual levers are impossible to shift on move.

We got one on our M-TA. I could take some pictures tomorrow with my digital camera and email them to you. Maybe you want the measurements also?

Post your email and I will get it to you. I love our side hill hitch! I will only plow with the M-TA just for that reason. I did make acouple of rounds with our Super M last spring but it was a handful on the hills with out a Side Hill hitch.

I've plowed on a lot of hill side but I have never heard of a side hill hitch. What is it? Post a picture of it.
