I recently replaced the whole torque amplifier unit, and now am putting it back together, i have it running, but my hydralics aren't working. There just isn't oil going to it. How do I get oil through the pipe that goes from the reservoir to the pump? also, if anyone can tell me, on the very top of the unit, is there an alen plug? mine has one, and doesn't screw in streight, the threads are sideways when it was made. Please help, going to rain rest of week, starting sunday night, and it hasn't ran for 3 months (middle of December 02) i don't want to drive it, because i fear the pump will get hot and ruin something

The screw on the top of my pump is the same---seems x-threaded but appears manufactured that way.

To prime the pump on my 400 I made up some pipe fittings with a valve included that I applied air pressure to the hydraulic oil tank fill hole. I took the top off of the breather located near the oil tank, put my thumb over the breather opening and slowly opened the valve to apply air to the system. I had removed a line that feeds hydraulic oil to the power steering and when oil started to flow from that open line I knew that I had primed the hydraulic pump. Hope this helps.
