Welcome to the club! I love this site for it's tractors, but when it comes to ford diesel pickups, the guys at thedieselstop.com are the best. You should check it out, they can answer anything.

My 97 F-350 has an automatic heater so we don't have to plug it in. One of the best things that Ford offers. Good choice.

Explain Your "Automatic Block Heater" I frequent dieselstop.com, TDR, and several other sites and have never heard of such a thing. I know O-t-R trucks have fuel fired heaters, or diesel generators with water cooled engines to keep the big engine warm and run lights, etc. in the cab.... but never ever heard of an "Automatic Block Heater" for a pickup.
