Since this takes about one hour before it starts to miss I would suspect an intake valve stem is warming up and sticking in the valve guide caused by carbon buildup on the valve stem from not using Low ash oil.You can verify this by removing one spark plug wire at a time after it starts to backfire. When it stops backfiring that will be the cylinder that the valve is sticking in.An ignition coil breaking down when it gets hot is also a possibility.

Those tractors are very sensitive of the setting of the points. Also, leaky plug wires will cause it to jump fire at the wrong time. Lastly, those engines will burn valves if you don't use a low ash motor oil. I love to hear one of those engines tuned right and pulling a load.
