1949 cub will not start.Has spark new parts on ignition, new carb. This tractor was running before snow, will not start, does not back fire or pop back.Tryed either, nothing! If the carb is not allowing gas into cumbustion chamber could either get through.

have you checked compression? sounds funny I know but cubs are prone to a valve or to sticking after sitting for a while.

Wet plugs? Gas coming out of the breather hose? Did you put in fuel stablizer last fall?

Take your 3# hammer and gently(as gently as you can with the 3# hammer) tap the carb on the big part thats got nothing else on it(so you don't break anything) Then try starting again.

Dollars to donuts the float needle is stuck. Happens on my Super M every time I've left it without fuel stabilizer. A bottle of Stabil is like $3 and will last a long time, even if you use it in every tank, which is a good idea because you've definately got some varnish in there.

Your frustration is evident-and understandable. You say there is spark- where is the spark and under exactly what circumstances do you see it? If not "seeing" it, how is the observation being made? Make sure the choke is open, use a pump oiler and squirt gasoline into the carburetor opening while cranking the tractor- if there is spark at the cylinders, it will fire. If it does not fire, the spark is not in the cylinder- either not at all or not at the correct time. Did you replace the spark plugs? If not, do so!
