I hear there are diffrent sizes of heads for a H farmall. I have a friend that is restoring one and the head laps over the edge of the block on one side and short on the other side? Runs fine however Can anyone explain?
Thanks brad

Brad, there are three different heads for an H made to burn different fuel (gasoline, kerosene, and distillate). The difference lies in the size of the combustion chambers. The actual width at the deck surface was the same for these. Without knowing what the casting number of the head on your friend's tractor is, perhaps it came from a later model such as a 300 or 350.
