Well I finally got the super A running after a rebuild that's taken me 4 or 5 years. It was a sweet sound hearing it run, that's for sure. I was concerned about the oil pressure, but after about 5 sec the pressure came up to about 50 lbs.
I have one concern however. When the hydraulics lift, everything seems fine, but going the other way, the motor goes under obvious load. It really bogs the motor. Any suggestions ? The tractor sat for about 7 years outside before I even started working on it.

Thanks in advance.
Brian.

Make sure your rock shafts are not binding in any way. If it sat for that long, you probably need to take some things apart and inspect and/or relube.Any binding will put the motor under load because it will put the pump under a load to move binding parts obviously. Hope you find the problem and the solution.

Not unusual. Change the fluid and clean the filter. If you still have trouble, get a gasket and seal kit from Case-IH, take the reservoir apart and clean out all ports/orfices, etc. Also replace the seal inside the pump if you haven't already, as these pumps typically leak oil into the crankcase.
