YTers,
I'm fixing up a '47 A. The original seat has been "field modified" quite a bit, and I can't find a good close-up picture of an original one. Could somebody tell me what is the purpose of the four studs near the front of the seat that extend downward?
Thanks,
Bill

Bill I believe the studs you are referring to on the front of the seat are to attach the release rod latch which anchors the front of the seat down. You lift up on this rod under the seat which releases the latches on the seat brackets and allows it to lift up to dump off water or ?. I hope this helps.

Thanks, Wes. My seat is missing that whole latch assembly, then. Somebody has drilled a small hole in the front of the seat and attached a spring between the seat and the toolbox under it to hold the front of the seat down. Bill
