Brought home a '47 Minne Mo "UTU" this week! It will join my modest collection of red tractors (Super H and Super M) out in the shed. Wasn't really planning on switching from IHC for my next restoration project. However the condition of this tractor (absolutely pristine except for the paint), and the price were simply too good to pass up. Also this particular MM has a bit sentimental value for me: It is the same tractor upon which I enjoyed my first ever tractor ride (at age 4!), and kindling my long interest farm tractors and such.

Punch below for a few pix, shot just before I drove it the 6 miles home...

Bob: I caught a glimse of this MM back couple of days ago. You put it on photo gallery didn't you? Then this #$%^& ice storm hit SW Ontario, been without power 47 of 53 hours since Fri morning, kind out of touch on forum.

I looked one of those over quite well about a year ago, same UTU. The fellow was in an antique pull, and he was smokin everyone. I had never been around these before. They seem to be in same hp class as Farmall SM, Oliver 88, Cockshutt 40 and MH 44. Those were the guys he was giving the hard time. In my opinion the two guys on SM and Cockshutt 40 were out of their league.

You enjoy that MM, Bob now I have to keep looking for my Oliver Super 77 diesel, the one my dad wouldn't buy in 1955, when he bought the Farmall 300.

Yeah Hugh - that's the same UTU that's in the photo gallery. My first impression is it doesn't have anywhere near the "zip" that my Super M does. That may improve once I get the correct spring back on the governor however (someone put a piece of screen door spring on it at some point...)

Western NY got hammered in the ice storm Friday/Sat too. Widespread power outages, some areas may be dark until the end of the week they're telling us. ...Bob M

Bob: As I said earlier that guy at tractor show had that UTU fine tuned. The big item of course was his operator skill. I think he could have taken any one of those tractors and won the pull. No one was claiming any of then to be any thing other than stock tractor.

Had another power outage over night, this one only an hour. We are experiencing blizzard like conditions here right now, suposed to get some snow. I planted peas, radish and beets two weeks tomorrow. Peas will probably make it, the rest will be history.

This MM isn't Bob's strange woman. It is merely his mistress.

Good for you Bob.

Hope that MM works out well for you. I've got two different colors in my barn -- same ones I grew up with also. That mix always brings a smile to my face, hope it works the same way for you!

Whew! I thought you went over to the dark side (green)! MM is a great tractor, have run a few of them and they are neat tractors. Good luck with it!

Looks good Bob. The paint isn't all that bad either. Hope you won't need the snow blade too much yet this year. Supposed to have 8 inches of snow here today.

Congrats on the Minnie-Moe. I someday would like to get a red nosed Z or R for restoration. Along with my Super C, H, and M, I have other shades of red, Massey Harris 101 Sr, and a Cockshutt 30
