I have a member in my antique engine club with a Super BN. He's the owner of a dealership, and was nearly given this tractor to make sure it was maintained. He was sworn to secrecy, not even telling his best friends the secret of the Super BN. Rumor has it that it was a tractor that was supposed to be scrapped, but was snuck away from IH torches. Who knows? And there is definately a lack of information on this tractor.

Essentially, the B turned into the C, a much more useful tractor.

IH realised that the Farmall B was pretty much a mistake from about the time they introduced it- a two row tractor should have adjustable rear axles, and the implement situation was rough. They actually started on what would become the C in 1939 or 1940, but the war delayed everything.

According to an article in either "Red Power" or "Harvester Highlights" (I forget which) some years ago, there was a "Super B" made. Just one though, a prototype.
Apparently IH felt that the C had more potential and went with it as the replacement for the B.
I have a B and really like it, but I think IH was right.
The prototype "Super B" was scrapped.
