I have a '55 farmall 400 gas, and want to pull with it in the antique tractor pull. It weighs 7,870 lbs with me on it. I have a split wheel weight (broken in half)on each side. Are they 100 lbs. each? It has fluid in the tires, don't know how much though, how much weight do you think it would take off if i have it taken out? I have a depth control of the front of the two point that i am going to take off. I am going to take the rear main cylender off, and use an adjustable stiff arm. I want to be in the 7,500 lbs. class if possible. when they say 7500, do they mean 7500 through 8,499? either way, i want below 7,500lbs.

dump the fluid, should get you well below 7500, my freind has a 560 he gets below 5500 pounds (one front wheel, no hydraulics, pull all the weight bars, has to have "working" PTO for his organization) then it'll take some scaling and expirimentation to figure out where to put the weight, we found narrower tires need more up front. Weight class is max for that class, 5500 or below, 7500 or below, etc, some guys will run light to try for more speed and momentum

Those weights weight 148 lbs per side. The split weights weight 1/2 of that. Weight includes bolts.

Bryce - When I replaced 14.9 x 38 loaded tires with a new pair NOT loaded, my Super M dropped almost exactly 1,000 lb. ...Bob M

For the 7500 lb class you will need to weigh 7500 lbs or less with you sitting on the tractor. I would guess that the split weights are in the 140-150 lb range. The fluid in the tires is going to weigh about 8 lbs/gal. I would drain/pump the fluid out of the tires and then re-weigh.
