Can anybody tell me what the capacity of this transmission is? Also, How do you check the oil level?

bradford: 4 US quarts without pto and belt pulley and 5 US quarts with those items. Level plug should be just below front end of left fender. I have seen two of these tractors without that level hole and plug. I happen to own one of them, for that I use an old oil dipstick through transmission fill hole. Marked it off another tractor.

Do you put all of the oil in the transmission or do you have to add some to the PTO and belt pully housing?

You put it all in transmission. There is an impeller type device feeds it to belt pulley and pto and an overflow that lets it feed back to transmission. So it is always circulating.

Hugh i mite add that i have found the hole for the lube to get to the pto assy is sometimes plugged. I think everyone with an A or B maybe should take off the pto assy and clean the crud out and then make sure the hole is clean for the lube to get in. This is realy a big thing if you are using the pto or belt pulley for a mower.

gene: I assume this applies to 100, 130 and 140 as well. My 130 and 140 have pto with no belt pulley. My Super does have pulley, however I haven't used it in years. Sounds as though I should may be check that as I do use pto a bit on all my tractors. Does this need to be checked on tractors without belt pulley?

No as the plate that blocks off the area where the pulley assy would cover up this passage. If i am going to use a belley mower i will take the assy paart as lots of times found the passage either blocked or partially plugged and with the pulley on the mower running under load good lubrication is important. In our area the belt pulleys were used as a lot of feed was ground.
