Brain, I have a rowcrop 340D that I use round the farm here in Washington State. I believe it to be a very good tractor, it has a TA with a quick hitch, which I have a three point attachment made by IH on it. My 340D pulls two bottom plow very well, we bale hay with, have a front loader on it as well. The only problem is finding sheet metal for this year of tractor, when you do find it, it's pretty pricy. I have said all along the the 340's are to new to be old an to old to be new. thus many bone yards still do not have many, but IH still sell parts for the engine an drive line in most case's (no pun intended). There are a number of member on this board an on the ATIS list that have them. Check out my site or email if you have any questions reguarding the 340, oh ya there was only 4000 340D's made.
