Finally got the cub done. Put the decals and wheel weights on this week. Got a lot of money in it, but I like it, and it makes me happy to just look at it. Think I will take it to a few shows this year, maybe even red power roundup.

Looks great - do ya know where there's another one? I know somebody that looking for one to do or one that already done thats for sale. BTW, you say you got a lot of $$ in it-but what are you comparing your costs to? (Remember, they don't make 'em any more.) Have you priced a little air cooled engine tractor lately? They want a lot of $$ for one & it won't last as long as that Cub will under heavy use. Unless you are real young, you & your kids will never wear that Cub out during your lifetimes & no one will have to do anything but routine maintenance to it. (My $0.02 worth. jal-SD)

Yup, I agree. I was not complaining about the cost, it's cheap compared to the new tin. My neighbor had one out by the road for sale, but I cant remember if it is still there or not. (memory is the second thing to go). No worry about wearing it out in my lifetime. I still remember my uncle buying several of them in the 50s for his strawberry farm. I think he still has 2 of them, but he is such a crab I dont talk to him except at weddings and funerals.

Bill, Real nice job! Its fun just to park it in the yard and look at it. Any way you slice it its a beautiful job! Enjoy. What did you use for paint and what type of equipment to spray with?

Thanks. I used PPG omni paint, with the appropriate hardener. It shines just like the new one pictured in Guy Fay's letter series book. I use a HVLP gun on my shop compressor. It saves paint, and makes so little overspray that I can see what I am doing.
