Help im at wits end. A friend has a farmall cub that won't start. I have checked everything New coil in mag. checked timing OK. Seem to have a weak spark at plugs.Coil fires spark 3/4 inch away from ground. IS it possable to have a weak spark and have aspark like that? could it be a bad condensor? He has had this a while always
started after rolling over 2 times on a 6 volt system.then one day it would not start.cleaned carb fired right off 6 or7 times has not ran since. founds bad coil fixed it.don't know what to do. any ideas anyone
thanks. vonbeefer

Bill, put solid core wires on her that will make the yellow spark go back to a blue spark. Had the same problem with my 49.I was about to pull my hair out trying to figure that one out,Big Dog straightened me out on the wires, carbon wires don't allow enough energy to get to the plugs.

Tune-up time! New points, condensor, rotor, rotor cap and wires if necessary.

Had the same problem with my Cub when I first got it.What I did was: 1)new plugs 2)new wires 3)new coil 4)new Points 5)cleaned w/emory cloth every single electrical connection 6)new voltage regulator...that was 3 years ago and she fires up every time....hope that helps you.
