Do 400's and 450's hdys run hot ? My 450's hyd started to smoke this morning while I was plowing and the only thing it was running was the power steering. I have a cluch lift plow.

They have and unload valve and fi it does not unload the system they do what is known as ht pressure and that causes them to get hot. under the hoods on the right side shouls be a valve with 4 5/16 or 3/8 hex head cap screws it the only valve with 4 screws in it below that plate ie the unload valve it may need new oring or seat or both.

Thanks Aces I'll look into that more this weekend. I finally got my butt in gear and fixed the M which should have been on the plow in the first place.
