I noticed that my M turns quite a bit shorter left than right. I haven't used it very much, so it's the first time I noticed it. Is there a way to correct this?

Thanks,
Bob

There is a bump on 1 of the 4 bolts that holds the pedestal on, I used to change these but it has been awhile, I think you can figure it out by a little feeling up in the lower bolster, think there was a slot, but then this was back in the 60s and I am a little fuzzy. This only applies to a narrow or tricycle front.

WEll if at one time some one had the gear in the bolster out it may have been put in wrong and if the gear was not equal on both sides then you would have one side not turn as far as the other one and the other turn farther than normal.

Before you do anything to adjust there is one stop bolt where the front wheels bolt to the bolster or the steering arm bolts to bolster if you have wide front end, the bolt has a round part above the hex head the other three just plain hex head that bolt should be in the right front hole when wheels are straight ahead, if not but it in the right front hole.

Kinda depends on it it's a WFE or NFE. No way to fix the problem on a NFE since that huge steering shaft in the frt bolster is probably twisted. If You have a WFE You need to check in Your Operator's manual how to adj. the tie rods on the frt axle.

Could there be the possiblity that the steering shaft was taken out at one time, the tractor moved an wheels sort of kocked then the steering shaft put back in. I have had a four maybe five front bolsters apart always put them back together with the wheels straight an never had a problem. But I was wondering, maybe if someone turned the front wheels (narrow front only) then you put the steering shaft back into the bolster if it would correct it's self or turn short one way an long the other Hummmmm mmmm, I have an M apart I'll have to try that just to see what happens :o)
