Can the carb be removed from the manifold without removing the manifold on a Super H? Got the fuel line, choke, air filter, and govenor disconnected but can't seem to be able to get a wrench on the rear stud without removing the manifold

Not sure but I think everyone forgot you said Super H,it has a bigger carb than the H right? It can be done though.I used a swivel socket with a long.like 24 inch extension and got to it from between the frame rails. The open/boxed end wrench works. You have to use one end and then the other to get it off,and if I recall it was easier to take off the bottom half of the carb first the n take off the top half.Just gives a little more playing room.

I just took one off a W4 same set up,,I took a 1/2 inch wrench, a old cheapo taiwan wrench and cut it in half, then I took some black tape and wrapped the area I cut so it wont cut my hand,, now I have a wrench about 3 inches long, works great ,,,make sure you dont cut a expensive wrench though lol,,Jim

As the others said, yes. For the back bottom nut, I use a crows foot and then stick the extension in the square hole. I believe it is 1/2". You will need an open end for the top one.

Yes, you can remove the carb without removing the manifold. You need a box end/open end wrench. Either one end or the other will fit on the rear nut - it takes patience.

Steven is right-it takes LOTS of patience. A "stubby" wrench helps. (My $0.02 worth. jal-SD)
