The hydraulics are one way. Pressure to lift, gravity to go down with return going back the same line. If you want two way hydraulics, you have to install a control valve, running a hose from one of the pressure ports to the control valve and the return from the control valve either to the fill port of the reservoir or to the drain. Then lock the Lift all lever in the lift position and you can use the control valve for 2 way system.

Take off the filler cap and screw a tee to the fitting and put a plug in the top and hook the return line on to the other port in the tee. When you run any kind of two- way hyds you need th solid plug insted of the origional cap if you want to run one way again take off the solid plug and put the old cap back on. The solid cap keeps the oli in the system when it is used on two way, the old cap has a breather and the oli will shoot out fo it when it is left on and two way is used.
