I just bought a 1956 cub that looks like it has been rolled. Does anyone have advise on removing dents from gas tank? Thanks Bill

Bill,

It depends a lot on where and how severe the dents are. The baffles keep you away from most of the area. For the compartment where the filler neck is, a trailer hitch ball welded to a bendable rod makes it possible to do limited pounding from the inside. It DOES take some practice.

Some people practice witchcraft with dry ice for small dents like hail damage.

Bondo has saved a lot of tanks that weren't too badly damaged.

Another possibility is a replacement tank. I have a correct one, but it has been converted to vertical exhaust...sandblasted and primed.

Bill,

I'd send an email, but you have it turned off.
