A friend of mine told me yesterday he had a 200 that was mostly intact that he would sell cheap. I can't find much about them on the board. Can someone tell me about a 200 such as size, engine size and are they a sought after as a collector. Thanks for any help Bill

Thanks alot guys I think I will go up there tomorrow and take a look at it and see if there is enough to build a tractor. I think I also bought a good straight H from him for 300 its stuck but was running less than a year ago. So don't think it will take much to gety it running. Again Thanks for the help will keep you postedon the 200. Bill

The 200 was very much like the Super C. 200 was a little heavier, I believe the factory rated it as having a couple more HP even though it was the same size engine. The 200 had live hydraulics that the Super C didn't. The sheet metal was restyled. The 200 was only produced in 1954, 55 & 56. Since only 13,726 were produced, they are considered to be more collectible than the C or SC. I believe many major parts are interchangeable, though. You may want to check around first if you know what parts it needs. The Fast Hitch was standard on the 200; a desirable option.

If you have a chance to get a decent one at a fair price, jump on it.

Bill: Should point out to you Fast Hitch was never standard on any IH tractor. It was always an option although in many cases it was so common one would almost consider it standard. The 200 was in fact one of those cases. I have however seen a few 200s without Fast Hitch. Just don't want to lead anyone astray, do we? I have not seen many SC without Fast Hitch either.

The SC and 200 with same options would be exactly same weight. They may have gained a couple of horse power for official tests, however on working tractors in the field, on average, I doubt there was any difference. And Sam is right they all had live hydraulics. You are quite right on the rariety as there were close to 90,000 Super C produced.

I would just like to point out that the Super C did have live hydraulics, as did the C which came before it. Both used the touch control system with the pump run of the timing gears underneath the distributor. Hope this helps. SAm in NS
