What is the size of the nut holding the steering wheel onto the steering column? My parts book does not list it. Thanks for the help.

Go to a GOOD screw/bolt place and get a 3/4 NF JAMB NUT. It'll look just like the original, I would be surprised if IH used something special for that.

My Super H book is in my shop. My H book says 3/4 inch NF thread, part # 114499. It does not have a number in the diagram, like you said, but is listed under the steering shaft. I think it is the same for the SH, not absolutely positive. This is a thin nut, my be hard to find except from Case-IH.

I believe you are right, it is 3/4 fine thread jam nut. Odds are that the IH dealer has it. Mine did, and I think it was less than a dollar. Some hardware outlets may have one, but they deal in mostly common stock sizes, and 3/4 fine is usually out of their realm.
