Is there a such thing as a 1957 A Farmall Tractor? What is is worth? Needs painting but appears to be all there. Brian

Brian: Farmall A was built from 1939 to 1947, it then became the Super A with hydraulics added and was produced from 1947 until 1954. It then changed a bit more and from 1954 to 1956 was called a 100, 1956 to 1958 was 130 and from 1958 to 1979 it was the 140. There were changes and improvments over the years. If you are not familiar with these tractors, it is best to see the serial tag for positive ID. Most of the parts are interchangable from one to the other. The tractors from 47 on with factory live hydraulcs, are the most functional as far as use around your property.

Indeed, in some parts of the country they are sought after and sell very well. I have bought and sold a few A's, and the most I've paid for a running, working A is 300 dollars. And it had one new rear tire. I've also sold them working for 200 to 300 dollars. I have seen them in the same condition go for 1500 and 2000 dollars in the north east part of the USA. I may trailer my next one up there. I think location is the key.

Trailer them up! You'll have no trouble selling them for $1500 or more if they are in nice shape.

No, there is no 1957 A. If it is '57, it would be a 130. However, an A in decent shape should be around 1500 dollars.

Thanks for all of your help. I found out the tractor is a Super A. It has many attachments with it. Looks like I may be buying me a Farmall. Brian
