Farmall A serial number

The serial number plate is gone from my FArmall A. Where else on the machine is the serial number stamped? If I get other numbers (engine stamps, etc.) can I date my machine. Finally, can get I get exact number in production my A is. I appreciate an help!

Check the serial number of the engine, should be the same unless the engine was replaced, this is only one place, there is another but don't remember what they are. I'm sure someone else can
help as well. This question seems to pop up about every two weeks, you might look though the back pages here on YT Farmall form. I'm sure if you look you will find where to find them plus a vast amount of information on Farmall A's.

Is the engine casting on the left side of the tractor or on the right, next to the clutch. I don't have the tractor with me right now and wanted to explain to someone else where to look. Where is the best place to find the exact tractor number of production it is? Thanks.

It should be on the right side of engine block, stamped on a raised pad.
