Andy: When I responded to your question this morning I was not aware of your goals. I'll give you a little advise on buying a tractor, just quietly look. The number of questions you have asked on here today, I imagine you have upped the price of every 560 on used lots in America by $500. today.

You look for a site called Iron Solutions, there are also 2 or 3 of them in YT photo adds.

Eugene,

Where are you located? I would be interested in your '63 560 Diesel. Email me if you are still wanting to sell it.

Thanks.

i bought a 686 3 years ago to replace our 560 as our planting tractor. this tractor is so much nicer to use than the 560. it had 2900 hrs w/rops. paid $7500 for it. still have the 560. its on loader and auger wagon duty. fwiw

Place an wanted to buy ad in the classifieds in this web site. Auctions, salvage yards (yeah I know they need work), ads in your local newspaper, etc. Farm equipment dealers are usually higher priced, but I'm still kicking myself for not buying an LPG 460 from the local Case-IH dealer for $1500. It sold in less than a week. As mentioned, ones in good condition may be hard to find. People tend to love the 560 or hate it. I would buy one if the price was right.

Andy: I agree with Wolfy 100%, go 656, 666 or 686, you will not pay a lot more money, but a way more functional tractor. I had both new from the factory. The newer ones were better in just about every way comfort, manuverability, hydraulics, pto, engine, TA, hitching, etc.

They are so user friendly that most of them have had 42 to 44 years of hard use & three or four owners. I'd look for a 656 & gain a much more useful hitch-or a 686 & newer style engine.

I have a row crop 460 with a wes.loader on it and find it very handy as I can use both hands{one to shift, one for hyds.}on the 656 etc.all controls are on right hand side. Just my thoughts.
