I have to haul a Farmall H tractor about 300 miles. I would like to know the weight so I can determine if my trailor is big enough.

I'm sure someone know and I would appreciate an e-mail.

Thanks

Allan Friede

Figure a Regular weighs about the same or a little less right?
I got no wheel weights, fluid in 1 tire, 1 steel wheel, no water in radiator, not much left of front tire.
BIG trailer, but I'm gonna pull it with the Dakota. Dakota is rated for 7K (I think) with the towing package and 318 I've got.
Think I can make it?

Ludwig, Maybe/maybe not! Remember the trucks towing rating is gross including the weight of the trailer as well as the tractor. I pulled my M on a Ryder auto transport behind my Ranger (4.0 V6) with the tow package. Weighed the rig at a truckstop CAT scale and trailer and tractor was 6785lbs. Drove about 200 miles and decided that if I wanted a truck left I should stop and rent the Ryder truck to pull the trailer. Glad I did as I never would've made over the Rockies going from Iowa to Washington ST.

Fortunately 1. My tractor is smaller than yours, 2. My truck is bigger 5.2 V8 Dakota, and 3. The trip from northern Maine to southern Maine is alot flatter than trying to make the Rockies. I will post an update after I'm through.

Don't forget to add for rear/front wheel weights or fluid filled tires.

Fluid can weight up to 300 pounds per tire, I just hauled a Farmall " H " 75 miles on a 8000GVW trailer with fluid in tire's and it never moved. Chained front & rear wheels & put a web strap across center of tractor. This trailer is 84 inches wide and had to suck the tire's in next to the tractor to get it on, had 2 inches to spare, so your trailer needs to be at least 80 inches inside fender-well to fender-well or she won't fit. Also be sure you get rear wheels in the center of the axle and put weight onto hitch or she sway all over the place. Chain her good, drive at a safe speed and stop after about 40 minutes and check all your chains and you will have a safe and enjoyable trip

But do NOT try and use OD if your truck has it, stay in direct Drive or you'll tear out a transmission in a hurry.
