I have a friends M that his grandfather bought new in the shop. I'm not sure of date of manufacture but as far as I can tell it's never been tampered with. I've got it running great after it was left set for several neglected years (15-20).
It has a steady leak from the rear main into the clutch housing; any tips would be greatly appreciated.
It runs so well that I hate to tear it clear down to repair it. How much can I get at without pulling it from the frame?

Brad It is possible that it is not the rear seal.On the back of the block there is a piece I think it is white metal. That might have a crack in it.You will have to split the tractor to get at it. If that is the problem all you have to do is go to a salvage yard and get one off a parts tractor. I had the same problem with an H.They come apart the same way. You don't have to drop the pan. I hope this helps.

I'm not aware of anyway to fix it other then splitting the tractor. You have to remove the oil pan also to get the seal parts off.
