hi , i have restored a 1948 farmall cub but had problems starting it up and keeping it in time so i pulled out the magneto and found out it had a broken tooth on the rotor the the magneto is a J4 magneto part # J4046498 and is not battery ignition i have been looking everyware for this type of rotor with gear like teeth on it is there someone that can tell me ware to get this tpye of rotor or can you use a replacement type rotor with out the teeth on it as for the magneto it is in great shape so i wound like to keep it as close to orignal as i can any help wound be very appreciated thanks bill

Part number is 351692R91. Most dealers have or can get them. Also available from www.cngco.com,as well as several magneto repair places. Also www.brillman.com or www.magnetoparts.com

Forgot to mention, they ain't cheap. About $25. I'd buy a new IH cap along with it. I once tried to save money by using an aftermarket cap and broke a NEW rotor.
