To get the radiator off the M do we need to take the wide front end off? How do we get to the cotter keys and castellated nuts at the bottom of the radiator? .... Thanks

yup you need to take the wide front off to remove the plate bolted to the bottom of the bolster which will then allow you to have acess to the nuts.

adding to Jon' comments If you have an early M there is not a hole in the casting to get a socket on the nuts.If your lucky you can compress the springs by prying up the radiator then hacksaw the 7/16 bolts. Leave a long enough stub to weld on new threads.

r4etired, I might be wrong but I think those bolts (studs) screw into the bottom of the radiator. I'd sure consider replacing them once I went to all the trouble of removal. Your coment is still valid about leaving enough length to work with. My nickel Dick Davis
