I have a '58 140 that runs perfectly normal almost all of the time but occassionally when climbing a hill it acts like is is starving for fuel. I can keep it running by pulling out the choke but thats the only thing that will keep it running. Fuel level doesn't matter. Thought about rebuilding the carb, did give it a good cleaning. but hate to get rid of those original parts as I haven't been impressed with the rebuild kits I have bought in the past. Besides why would it run perfect on level ground and start acting up on an incline? As usual thanks in advance for and comments or advice.

I think that the high speed jet is slightly clogged. Except for gaskets, cleaning it does not involve parts replacement.
