I could use some help in establishing the value of a IHC 706, it runs well and the paint is good, it has a cab and dual hydralics. The tires are fair and it needs some electrical work as the mice invaded. What would it be worth.

Bob, could you give a little more info? Is it a gas, a 282 diesel, or a 310 diesel? What size tires does it have, and what shape are they in? Does it have a factory wide front? Does it have a standard drawbar, a fasthitch, or a 3-point hitch? Does it have the 540/1000 dual-shaft PTO unit, or just the 1000? Does it have a TA, and if so, does it work? How worn is the transmission shift linkage? How many hours are on it? The electrical problem is going to take away from the value, since new wiring harnesses from Case-IH cost around $300, and of course you always find a few other electrical parts that need replacing when you rewire. I could probably think of a million other questions to ask you, but these are the main things that effect value. The value of 706's can really vary, anywhere from $2000-$6500 for a running, driving tractor.

HI KB

The tires are poor and it has a standard front end not the tricyle or wide front end. It has a standard drawbar with a single PTO. It does not have a TA and the tranny linkeage is fairly tight. The tach and hour meter do not work, but the hour meter shows 6500 hours. The engine starts easily in warm weather 50oF and does not smoke for long when warming up. I didn't look at the tire size but they are comparible to my 660 .
