I have 5 acres and I am mostly looking to mow. I have a gravel driveway (real long) that needs to be leveled. I have a small plot that I would like to till every once in a while.

A guy down the street is selling a 560. He says it was built in 1967. I thought the last year for that was '63. Anyway, I haven't talked to him but it looks restored (at least on the outside with the paint and such).

The only thing is he is asking $4500 or best offer. Like I said, it looks restored but I don't know if he restored the engine.

Tell me if you think it is worth that much and if it is good for my application.

thanks in advance.

bob

He's full of you-know-what if he's telling you it's a '67. That was the first year for the 56 series, and the 06 series came in between.

You can tell what year it is by looking at the serial number and checking it with the reference to the immediate right

<----- - :)

$4500, unless it's REALLY cherry and solid, is too much for any type of 560.

That 560 seems like quite a bit of overkill for what you want to do. But I like tractors on the big side so you may too.

If its gas with a narrow front - NO. If its Diesel with a wide front, new tires and an engine overhaul from a reputable mechanic its on the upper end of its value.
