We just purchased a Farmall A. We were told it was a 1940. The serial no. says F.A.A. 36020. I have been unable to find the year using this site, but from what I did find it looks as though the fellow we bought the tractor from may have not had the year right. Does anyone know what year this is? What do the letters mean before the numbers? How do we know if it is an A or a super A? Thanks in advance for any information you may have for us. Bonnie

I believe the year 1940 is correct as my A has a higher serial # than yours and mine is a 1941. Super A's weren't produced for several years later, so your is an A.
