I recently picked up a wide front end for my M but the hubs don't match. One is for the clamp-style rims and the other is for the loop-style. I don't really care which I have as long as they are the same. Might be nice to have the "right" ones for my '47. Also might be nice to be able to use the loop-style rims I now have on the narrow front. Anyone have a similar problem and would be willing to make a trade? Thanx a bunch guys an' hav a gud'un BW PS I also need one of the clamps&pin on the axle. thanx again BW

Maybe I didn't make it really clear. The wide front I got came with no rims, and one hub is for the clamp (I assume "older")type rim & the other hub is for the "loop" style rim. I don't think the hubs from the narrow front will fit. I may be wrong, I'll look in the morning. The narrow front has loop style hubs & wheels. I figured the rims from the narrow front would fit the WFE hubs, IF I had two loop style hubs. It wouldn't matter much which way I go, clamp or loop, as both rims are in poor shape anyway. However, I would like to get it together without too much expense, and replace the rims later. I also need a clamp & pin that holds things in place where the axle width is adjusted. Thanx guys an' hav a gud'un BW

I just finished fixing up a derelict wide front for my H. It came with the clamp style hubs and rims. I took the loop style hubs off of my narrow front and put them on the wide front. The spindles should be the same as the narrow front so you could just re-use the hubs that you already have. If you want to see what is looks like, go to the picture gallery and find my picture under 1941 H Farmall (MN).

Bruce, I just went through the same thing in reverse. I'm going from the wide front to the narrow. My hubs and wheels did not fit. I ended up getting "new" rims. My old hubs had the loop built into the hub. There is another style hub that has seperate loop. Then there is a rim that needs no loop and just bolts to the hub. That's what I have now on my narrow front. You don't say what your wide front has. I think you'll find it the easiest is to change your rims to the clamp type. I paid $50.00 ea. Email me if you need more info I have pictures and can show you the differences.

I have 3 wfes which are on a 43M & a 44M. The other is in the shop. One is cast iron and the others are tubular steel. None have the loop type rims. Maybe you can buy a matching set of rims.I had to do that. Email if you have any questions.
